We just finished up our bracket of Badass Movie Villians, and now we head back to TV! For our third bracket at Awesomeopolis, we want to know “Who is the Most Awesome TV Family?”
Below you’ll find 100 TV families (sorted by TV show title) that were selected based on the suggestions from this post and some of our own favorites. Not all of these TV families, however, are worthy of making it to the bracket! We’re conducting a seeding poll, where the top 16 characters will be ranked by votes for head-to-head match ups throughout the month of July.
After it’s all said and done, we’ll be sending a “Certificate of Awesome” to the actors that play the characters in the family.
Here’s the schedule:

The Mars are just awesome as are the Batowskis. Additionally, if the Winchester or the Gilmores don’t make it, there is some injustice in the world.
I wouldn’t mind marrying into the Winchester Clan. Dean’s mine. The Mars family is awesome because I would love to have Keith as a Dad. And of course what kind of Whedonite would I be without picking them too so go Summers and Tams. At least I’ve got the crazy part since River got all the brains along with Simon since he’s pretty smart too.

Where are the Taylors (Friday Night Lights), arguably the BOTH the most real AND the most awesome family on television currently or perhaps ever? An unforgivable omission. For the FAIL, y’all.

Crap. I can’t believe we left them out. I wither in your scorn, deservedly so. Not only are The Taylors a pretty great TV family, but that’s the kind of show that can use all the promo it can, even from a silly little poll like this. Keep the Lights on!
I think people are confusing families with TV shows. BUFFY is my favorite all time show, but the Summers family is far from the best ever. Funny how some of my all time favorite families are two-person ones, like VERONICA MARS and THE GILMORE GIRLS (the two best parent-child relationships I’ve ever seen on TV).
I also was incredulous the Taylors were on the list. I would have voted them #1. The scenes with Eric, Tami and Julie feel like a real life family, not a TV family.

I think you should expand the next round to 16 shows, adding FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. The omission of that show is mind boggling.
