Badass Movie Villain Bracket – Elite Eight
By: Ryan | June 15, 2009 at 9:54 am

Thanks to everyone for voting in our seeding poll, 16th place play-in, and our Sweet Sixteen!

Pretty big wins for most of our competitors after the first round and our top six seeds are still alive. It did, however, take all of T-1000’s skill to be able to sneak past Agent Smith by one vote. Unfortunately for him, he’s up against a Darth Vader that won handily in the first round.

Take a look at the standings and be sure to follow us on Twitter for periodic bracket score updates during the week:

Here’s the bracket as it currently stands:

After the jump, see the schedule rundown and vote in each matchup!

Here’s the schedule:

Seeding Poll (Selection of Top 16) – June 1 to June 4
Sweet Sixteen – June 8 to 13
Elite Eight – June 15 to 20
Final Four – June 22 to 27
Badass Championship – June 29 to July 4

Voting for each round will end at 11:59pm EST of the final day.

After it’s all said and done, we’ll be sending a “Certificate of Awesome” to the actor that plays that character.

And now, the matchups:

My only wrong bracket pick for the sweet 16 was Scar over Sauron. Sauron was sneaky sure, but Scar assassinated his brother and traumatized his nephew to take the throne where he then nearly destroyed two civilizations.

I’m a little disappointed that it looks like T-1000 will lose to Vader. I would heartily accept Vader as the winner (possibly of it all) if it hadn’t been for Attack of the Clones and Phantom Menace (Sith gets a little bit of a pass, but can’t entirely make up for the whine.)

This will be a square off between The Operative and Joker I think. Tough call but it’ll have to be the operative. The joker is motivated by the need to spread fear and is mentally unstable; the operative on the other hand is of sane mind and doesn’t appear villainous.. Cool calm and collected in what he does.
