By the end of Saturday we will finally know who you think the most Badass TV Character really is. Will River Tam be able to hold onto her lead, or will Dr. House be able to diagnose a cure for his current predicament? If you haven’t voted yet, head on over and let your voice be heard!
For our next bracket, we’re hitting the big screen. What we at Awesomeopolis want to know is who is the most Badass Movie Villain. We’ve already got a few suggestions in mind, but as many of you pointed out to us in the comments during our last bracket, we definitely missed some pretty Badass TV characters. So tell us, who do YOU think is the most Badass Movie Villain? Either leave a comment, or email me. The seeding poll will go up on Monday.
Let’s hear it!

The Operative, from Serenity. Daamn. That guy was just so cool and composed it irked me too much.
I second The Operative. He’s one of the best villains I’ve ever seen.
The liquid metal Terminator from T2!
Darth Vader!!
Operative… and Darth Vader!
Wow- I guess there’s a lot of Operative love here. Anyway, he’s my choice too.
The Operative from Serenity. Ozymandius from Watchmen.
I say the Operative from Serenity!
Oki doki… I Love bad guys so I second the aboves xD
Heath Ledger – Joker
Magneto – xMen
Pin Head – Hell Raiser
Pennywise – IT
Not really a film but kinda… ish… Dr Horrible! From Dr horribles Sing along blog!
Operative from Serenity!
Mr. Freeze! (Wait, sorry. Had to put my glasses on. I thought it said Dumbass Movie Villains)
Props to the Operative
“You’re fighting a war you’ve already lost.”
Lets go with Ozymandias from Watchmen, T-1000, Judas, Pennywise, The Hotel from the Shining, Hans gruber from Die Hard, simon gruber from Die Hard with a Vengeance, Ledger’s Joker, Predator, Freddy, Michael Myers, Gabriel from the Prophecy, Jigsaw, Hannibal Lecter, Pinhead, Dr. No, John Doe from Se7en, Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, The Hitcher, Chucky, The Kurgan from Highlander, and Vigo from Ghostbusters II. Have fun
The Kurgan from Highland scares me spitless every time.
Darth Vader–an oldie but a goodie
The Joker from the Dark Knight…why so sad?
well lets see……i would say Davy jones(PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN),Palpatine(STAR WARS SAGA),mister T(ROCYIII),THE CLOVERFIELD MONSTER(CLOVERFIELD),Bruce willis(PLANET TERROR)and the operative(SERENITY).
Was just about to suggest “The Operative”, but I see it’s in the first comment already. In fact, it’s in all the comments, LOL.
Best damn villain I’ve ever seen.
“Key members of parliament… Key. The minds behind every military, diplomatic and covert operation in the galaxy… and you put them in a room… with a psychic.”
“This is a good death. There’s no shame in it. In a man’s death, a man who has done fine works. We’re building a better world. All of them. Better worlds.”
I could quote this guy forever…
River Tam – Serenity, she takes out a bar full of people and then goes on to kill a room full of armed reavers single handed. She could have killed the operative easily as long as she was wearing earplugs.
ive gotta saythe black night or the evil bunny from monty python and the holy grail
LOL at 17
But River Tam is not a bad guy
Heath ledger’s Joker
Cap. Barbosa – POTC
lord Voldemort, Schwarzenegger – terminator1,
darth vader, Imhotep – the mommy
Glad to see The Operative got so much love!
Lol…
I mean, making a man impale-himself with his sword… talk about badass.
This list ABSOLUTELY MUST have Hans Gruber from Die Hard!!!!
Rickman set the bar VERY high in ‘89 for the perfect, tailored, calculating, methodical, sociopathic, corporate thief villain for everyone to follow. Brilliiiiiant!
Definitely agree with needing Kurgan in the bracket too!
Vader WAS badass…til they annihilated him with over-explanation just like Boba Fett. Neither are really “badass” anymore thanks to George’s over-saturation.
As much as I can’t stomach giving props to Dollhouse, Alan Tudyk as Alpha should go on this list too. That guy completely stole the show out from under Dushku and friends…brilliant villain!
I vote the operative from serenity. Such an awesome villain, so frustratingly composed, and you cant really not like him.
“Malcolm… I’m a monster. What I do is evil. I have no illusions about it, but it must be done.”
Best quote ever.
Darth Vader or Emperor Palpatine for sure. Then Ozymandius from Watchmen. I’d say Alpha from Dollhouse but, alas, that isn’t a film.
obvious choice: ursula from the little mermaid
the creepy drippy guy/old captain from sunshine
that’s all i have to offer.
Al Pacino as Tony “Scarface” Montana.
Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver)
Darth Vader
HAL 9000
Hannibal Lecter
Agent Smith (The Matrix)
Alex (Clockwork Orange)
Hans Gruber
I have to go with the Operative, then The Joker, Hans Gruber, Hanibal Lecter, Agent Smith, Gene Hackman as Sheriff Little Bill(in Unforgiven, he was pure evil), Emperor Palpatine, Terminator 1, Valdemort, Darth Vader (from original Star Wars 4,5,6).
Special Mention to: Alpha, because he’s on TV.
