This bracket will be the first in a monthly series where we crown the best of the best of the best in everything.
May’s bracket attempts to figure out this question: “Who is the Most Badass TV Character?”

Here’s the schedule:
Seeding Poll (Selection of Top 16) – April 27 to April 30
Sweet Sixteen – May 4 to 9
Elite Eight – May 11 to 16
Final Four – May 18 to 23
Badass Championship – May 25 to 30
Voting for each round will end at 11:59pm EST of the final day.
After it’s all said and done, we’ll be sending a “Certificate of Awesome” to the actor that plays that character.

Update on May 07 8:50PM EST: After consulting with the Vice Presidential Action Rangers, the powers that be have decreed to keep the polls open until Saturday at 11:59pm EST. Then, the polls will closed on Sunday (like Chik-Fil-A) so our winners can rest up for the Elite Eight.

Man, how did Sylar not make the Sweet Sixteen?
Sylar’s too emo. I can’t believe Leo McGarry and Andy Barker were left off the list.
Doesnt anyone understand that you cant be a badass, just by being an idiot who sells paper and is kinda funny. How in the hell did Schrute make this list. RECOUNT!!!!
I wouldn’t be as upset about Dwight cracking the top sixteen were not for the insult of Jack McCoy being left out. Clearly, there are some pregnant chads out there.
Also, how is Barney Stinson currently beating Cordell Walker???

Of course, only on your website would Chuck Norris be losing to NPH. I’ll admit, “How I Met Your Mother” is a great show, but I really don’t think Walker VS Barney should be that close!
#7, EXACTLY. Ziva beats Gibbs, hands-down, even though I like Gibbs a lot.
The Doctor is easily the most badass Character ever created.
Look. I love Stargate: SG1. But the Doctor is easily one of the best characters on any show. EVER. Especially this Doctor! I’m shocked!!
So the contest should really come down to only two characters and one of them isn’t on the bracket and should be. That character is Brock Sampson. He should be going up against The Doctor, and you know what, I don’t know who would win I really don’t. So um yeah you really need to redo the entire bracket in my opinion.
Vic Mackey is the poster boy for badasses. He should have been on this.
I think it’s worth mentioning that the nomination process and polling to decide who made the Sweet 16 was done before this blog had, you know, readers. Anyone who wants to have a say in who goes into future Badass Brackets, stay tuned…I think Most Badass Movie Villain is next after this one.

and my heart is torn watching the Doctor vs O’Neill round
I’d have preferred to match The Doctor with Torchwood’s Captain Jack. Perhaps for your next competition – the two Gene Hunts (Philip Glenister vs. Harvey Keitel).
The Doctor is by far the most badass caracther ever! (”He’s sending the Cyberman to hell!”) I love SG-1, but O’Neill is way too pedestrian compared to a Time Lord. I’m also fairly shocked, that after seeing BSG 4×13 The Oath, in which Adama and Tigh defeated the marines, who were escorting them to the brig, Starbuck has more votes! Go Doctor, go Adama!
How are Mal Reynolds and Jayne Cobb not on the list?
No offense, but I don’t think Jack Bauer would want to be left in a locked room with B.A. Baracus. And Doogie Howser beating Chuck Norris…puhlease. Do you people know what a bad ass is?
Adama vs. Starbuck??? Actually, it should be Laura “Put that thing out the nearest airlock!” Roslin vs. Starbuck, and the schoolteacher with ice water in the veins should win that mathchup easily
