Whether you’re designing a website, making a PowerPoint presentation or just trying to find the right image for a funny photoshop-based practical joke, many people every day struggle to find the right image to fit in.  If you want a specific noun, Google Image Search will get you that map of Annapolis or that posed bikini model you’ve been looking for.  But what about when you want an image that will blend in with a specific color scheme?  It’s a problem artists and webmasters run into constantly, as well as the more devoted PowerPoint users.  But finally, a solution!

This nifty MultiColr Search Lab scans Flickr images based solely on color composition.  You can pick anywhere from 1 to 10 colors off a panel, and it will provide images where your selected color(s) are the dominant hue.  (You can select one color multiple times to more heavily weight it in the color search.)  I know I’ve enjoyed playing around with the color search, which is noteworthy simply for its appeal to artists and techies alike.

Intensely cool! Good find. I suggest hitting the ten color limit and reading the error message.
